Education Presentations

The Annual Educational-Lecture Luncheon began in 1990 and is a signature event for the Central Carolina Black Nurses Council, Inc. The event is held on the first Saturday in December. In keeping with the mission of the organization, the luncheon is open to nurses, consumers, and other health care providers and is designed to provide current and relevant information on health issues that impact minorities negatively.

Prior to the establishment of the luncheon, several workshops and conferences were held to keep healthcare providers and the community abreast on trends and disparities in health care. Under the stewardship of the Council’s founder and 1st president, Dorothy Davis Cox Fisher, two statewide conferences were held during the infancy days of the organization:

April 28, 1984:
