The Distinguished Chapter Service Award recognizes chapter members that have contributed exemplary service to the chapter beyond normal membership responsibilities. The selected nominees will be recognized at the Annual Education Lecture Luncheon.
Do you know someone who has contributed beyond the normal membership responsibilities and deserves additional chapter recognition? Nominate that person for the Distinguished Chapter Service Award!
What is the Distinguished Chapter Service Award?
The CCBNC has designed the Distinguished Chapter Service Award to recognize exemplary dedication and service to the chapter and its mission to provide a forum for collective action to investigate, define, and determine the health requirements of African Americans and other diverse communities.
What are the Qualifications for this Award?
The qualifications for the Distinguished Chapter Service Award include:
- Nominees must be a member of National Black Nurses Association and the Central Carolina Black Nurses’ Council.
- All nominees in good financial standing are eligible, with the exception of the current chapter president.
- Nominee must be a chapter member for at least 6 months.
- Nominees must demonstrate consistency of service over the time of chapter membership.
- Nominees must actively participate in community service activities/projects.
- Nominees must attend at least 50% of chapter meetings as indicate by the attendance roster.
- Nominees must actively participate in chapter committees, projects and programs.
Who Can Nominate?
- Any chapter member that meets the qualifications above may self-nominate.
- Each chapter member may nominate no more that one (1) candidate for the award.
How to Nominate?
- Complete the distinguished Chapter Service Award nomination form.
- Incomplete nomination forms will be rejected by the nomination committee.
- How will the award recipients be chosen?
- The award will be given to the nominee with the best description of their contribution to the organization.
- Up to three (3) recipients will be honored annually.
